R7800 VPN server and dynamic DNS
Hello all!
I don't get this.
Must I use a dynamic DNS-provider from noip or Netgear when I activate the VPN server?
I already have a registered domain that keeps track of my ISPs DHCP-assigned IP address.
Using a static IP is cost-prohibitive for home networking stuff, at least with my ISP, so am at a loss on how to proceed.
I guess setting up a VM inside my LAN is a way forward, but I'd rather not have to reinvent the wheel if the service is already there in the router.
Thanks.

Netgear only supports a couple VPN's.
If your wanting to use a different one, you could always check into installing 3rd party firmare to the router. there's always a chance of bricking the router while doing that through.

Yupp, thanks. Figured as much. Went with noip for now.
I did run Voxtels a while, but ran into a rabbit hole of problems, so reverted to the OEM firmware instead.
I'll look into a different firmware as time permits.
Thanks.
