R7800 VPN Server and Return Policy

My current router is a TP-Link Archer C7 v2 with DD-WRT.  It's generally workign fine, but I'd like better performance out of the VPN server.  It appears that the R7800 offers VPN server support with the stock firmware and may even leverage intergrated encryption acceleration hardware in a way DD-WRT can not.  To be clear, I'm talking about running a VPN server on the router to enable a secure connection into my LAN from the internet.  I'm not talking about using a VPN service like Nord, which is what most people think about when the see the letters VPN.

1) Does any one have any direct experience with the R7800 VPN server and how it's performance compares to the DD-WRT implementation on a lower-end router the the Archer C7?

2) If I buy the R7800 direct from Netgear and decide the VPN server performance isn't compelling, can I return the unboxed router within 30 days for a full refund (less shipping) for that reason alone?

Thanks!
