Is that controlled by Group Policy? I've read some post saying a user was able to convince his Admin to adjust GP so he can use ReadyShare again...
That is interesting, and probably the problem for you. I don't use Windows Defender for the Fireware, I have Norton ISS installed with does it.
Wonder if you ran some 'WannaCry" program that 'protected you against it and it made changes for you?
What you will need to do is open Settings for Windows Defender and see what rule is blocking port 445, and there could be others as well.

A lot of those are duplicate info mostly, but worth looking at them.
Better yet, before venturing down that path, why not just TEST with the Defender Firewall turned off and see if that is actually the problem?

Thanks, IrvSp. PowerShell shows the result like yours. Net View also show 1 network drive but it's not //ReadySHARE. Does it make any difference if this is a domain pc?
In Windows 10 File Explorer, if I click on Network, it errors out: Network discovery is turned off....even though, In Network and Sharing Center, I still see Private (current profile) has all turned on: network discovery + file and printer sharing.
Thanks,
First, I also tried the supposed fix for Function Discovery and that did not help for me. I don't think it really helps as with both on Automatic Delayed only the Resource Publication is running. Net View still works after Stopping it and it doesn't start again after I issued Net View.
Take a screenshot of that error? Post it with you reply by using the BROWSE button at the bottom, it will appear with the post.
Not sure what you mean by 'Domain' in this context? All PC are on 'some' workgroup usually. You can log into a Domain though.
It is quite possible you've set up READYSHARE on GENIE to be a specific WORKGROUP and your PC is on a different one? "net config workstation" in a CMD prompt will show you the Workstation domain name. Make sure it matches the Genie USB Functions, READYSHARE Storage, Workgroup. If different, change them to match.
If all works, to put your mind at ease that it wasn't SMB 1, disable it, reboot and see if you can still see the shares.

Thanks for the help again,

Can't see the pictures yet, they need Moderator approval.
Best way to get them up fast, if only one, use the BROWSE button and upload that way. Otherwise use a 3rd party repository site (some are free) that provides links and post the links.

Still waiting to see the screen captures...
I did find this, https://windowsreport.com/network-discovery-disabled/, wonder if your FIREWALL is the problem? Is the LAN 'trusted'? If you have both a security suite and Windows Defender running you need to check both.

OK, now that I see your screen capture(s) you've got one problem you will hit soon if not already.
MS, in its keeping YOUR best interested at heart (pun intended) has made changed for the Spring Creator V1803 update. No more Homegroups, which it appears you are using. I am NOT. I use normal TCP/IP network sharing. I little more complicated between PC's as credentials are need on all shared PC's for permissions.
See these 2 articles:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4091368/windows-10-homegroup-removed
the fix:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-share-files-and-printers-without-homegroup-windows-10
Also, see my screen capture on the right, ALL NETWORKS should also be set.

Hi IrvSp,
Thanks for pointing out my screen shots are about Homegroups. If MS discontinues it, I am most likely better off not to fight that. My All Networks is set as in your screen shot, but I guess that's also part of Homegroup, right?
When you say "normal TCP/IP network sharing." Is that what the "fix" link is about? If yes, I also tried that but doesn't work - my laptop still says "Network discovery is turned off..." like in the 1st screen shot.
I did sth extra:
1. Click on "Network discovery is turned off..."
2. Choose Open Network and Sharing Center
3. Click Network troubleshooter
4. In Windows Network Diagnostics window, enter \\ReadyShare, click Next
5. Result: "The Windows Defender Firewall rule SMB Block Outbound is blocking your connection"
Is that controlled by Group Policy? I've read some post saying a user was able to convince his Admin to adjust GP so he can use ReadyShare again...
Please let me know if I'm on the right track of analyzing this issue...
Thanks,
