R7960P Installing firmware without internet connection
I use my router with a mixing board for live performances with musical groups. I rent a back house that comes with free WIFI from a repeater, so I don't have direct access to the internet for this router. I am able to download the update onto my desktop and my laptop. Is there a way to get the firmware from my laptop or desktop to this router?

Yes you can download any FW update files to your PC or laptop, then you can connect to the router using a ethernet cable to the back of the router and log in to the routers web page to update the FW:

I recommend if the router is working, leave it.

Thank you for your reply. On my last job, several of the band members experienced several disconnects with this router and having their monitor mix completely changed. With my iPad I experienced this once, fortunately not during the performance. Would a firmware update possibly cure this problem? Or is this an indication of the router failing?

I would first try a factory reset and setup from scratch on the router.
Are these devices wired or wirelessly connected to the router?
Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?
What channels are being used for the wireless radios?
