R8000 55 Mbps vs 90 Mbps for direct connet
MY speetest results are routinely 90 Mbps when connected directly to the cable modem. When I connect the modem to the router, my ethernet sppeds drop to about 55Mbps. Any ideas?

When connected to the R8000, what is the connection speed of the WAN port?
If you have QoS enabled on the router, disable and test again.

I would start by swapping out the Ethernet cable between the router and modem. Try a CAT6 cable..

I ran CAT6 from the modem to the router and from the router to the PC. No change in speed tests, still 55 from the R8000 and 90 from the modem.

This worked fo me. In fact, I was able to disable QoS, run a new speed test to get the higher results and then renable QoS and keep the speed increase. I'm leaning toward leaving QoS off though as it seems like more trouble than it is worth....

Happy to hear work getting your speeds. If you can keep it off, you should..
