I’ve just bought the r8000 which I have plugged into a Virgin Homehub set to Modem mode. I have a Synology ds112j Nas attached via Ethernet and an Nvidia Shield running plex media server. I cannot ...

What I'd try? 

Putting the home hub back in router mode, disable its wifi, and the netgear in access point mode. 

the home hubs aren't known to have the best function modem only/passthrough mode.

      good luck!

      It can be frustrating when using ISP supplied devices. There's not much drive for the ISP to have them run with another router.

        Right, had me fill of that now. Gonna try your method. With it connected in AP mode what ports do I use for the Shield etc? The ones on the Netgear or the Hub?
