R8000 slow wifi speeds, normal ethernet

try installing version 1.0.4.28 of the firmware to the router. Then do a factory reset and a clean install (not from backup). Just get the basics of your internet connect. don't change anything else. Then try testing your speeds. (disable auto-updates if it helps).
Make sure to leave qos, traffic monitoring, access control, and parental controls disabled
