R8000 slower connection
I've been experiencing some slow speeds lately and it's only seeming to get worse, I'm on a dedicated fiber optic line with 1gb speeds both up and down and I'm only getting about 250 down and 100 up.....
I got those speeds I listed wirelessly.
Firmware is v1.0.4.68
Nope no fancy box just a fiber optic modem with one dedicated port for the router which has a cat8 cable going to the router.

Sadly, without a make and model number, that tells us nothing about this "fiber optic modem".
My guess is that it is just a modem, but I have a "modem" that has limited router features built in. I have to disable them.
But this bit is much more important.

That will be the answer. Those wifi clients may not get anything faster than that.
Have you tried them somewhere else? On a different wifi source? Any faster?
250 Mbps is faster than many wifi clients can handle.

The only reliable test of the router is wired-to-wired.
What speed do you get when you run a speed test with something connected to the LAN ports on the R8000?
The best test is to plug yourself into the fiber optic modem. How fast is the connection? Then connect the router. How fast is that connection?
- The router is a iPhotonix model 7251G sorry should have listed that.
I tried both 5G bands and I'm still getting 275 down and 250 up which again is great but nowhere near the speeds I initially got or the speeds I'm capable of getting.
As far as connecting directly that's at the moment not possible as my only pc is a desktop in another room far away from my living room (and currently being used by my wife) so I may need to try that later but unhooking it will be pretty annoyingI had the same problem with an R8000 router. Internet 350Mbps but when wired into the router only getting 250Mbps. I saw an older post about the same issue with an R7000 and this solution worked for me.

I think this is a firmware bug which seems to impact multiple Nighthawk models. Anyway hope it works for you!
Just noted that your connection is wireless so it may not help but worth a try anyway..
