So i have the r8000 I got from a from a friend to try to fix. the problem is the "wifi" doesnt work. I have tried everything from pressing the wifi button on the router for 2 seconds all the way to a...
Have you tried reinstalling the firmware (or downgrading) and then doing a factory reset?
If the firmware was corrupt, sometimes a reinstall is needed
i did update it when it first booted. but that sounds like it could work.
any chance you can walk through how to do that?

The click on downloads. Then "view previous versions" That'll have older versions. Download the one you want and extract it. Then follow the manual update guide but use the firmware you downloaded and not the newer versions.
