R8000
Hello all. I recently switched from a R6400 router to a R8000. What a pain to get setup correctly. On the R6400 I could label everything that was attached wifi or hardwire wise in the attached device...

That's odd. My experience in several very different generations of hardware is that these things are generally similar in how they work. Life's too short for Netgear's router engineers to customise the process for every device they ship.

Label how? Are you talking about naming connected devices?
That should also work in the R8000. If it doesn't I'd try to track down why.
What happens when you try?
I have to go to address reservation. I try to add a device and I get an 404 error code. Is there a workaround?
That's not the same as naming attached devices.
The error is odd. Again suggesting a problem that needs sorting out.
When do you see the error? When you hit add?
What firmware is on the R8000?
The GUI is very similar. That’s why I liked it. But yes. When trying to name attached devices via address reservation when I click an item in the list and try to name it, when I hit add it pops up 404 error. Server cannot process this

It could be something to do with the browser. (These are getting picky about security, especially with http sites.)
Try a different browser.
If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that sits between this router and the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.- Well hell. I use google chrome for everything. But I’ll def try another browser. The R8000 sits behind an Arris SB8200 modem. Using port 1 on the modem to go to the wan “yellow” port on the R8000
- So I’ve tried Firefox, edge, internet explorer. They all give the same error. Not sure where to go from here
