R8000
Hello all. I recently switched from a R6400 router to a R8000. What a pain to get setup correctly. On the R6400 I could label everything that was attached wifi or hardwire wise in the attached device...

The GUI is very similar. That’s why I liked it. But yes. When trying to name attached devices via address reservation when I click an item in the list and try to name it, when I hit add it pops up 404 error. Server cannot process this

As I said before, you need to troubleshoot that. Fix that and you should see the same thing as you did with the the router.
It could be something to do with the browser. (These are getting picky about security, especially with http sites.)
Try a different browser.
If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that sits between this router and the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
- 707linemanSep 24, 2023AspirantWell hell. I use google chrome for everything. But I’ll def try another browser. The R8000 sits behind an Arris SB8200 modem. Using port 1 on the modem to go to the wan “yellow” port on the R8000

Have you reset the R8000?
How do I perform a factory reset on my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
The factory reset is more a "witchcraft" move than a technically informed solution, but it does seem to fix problems, especially on the wifi front. It is also the first thing that Netgear support will recommend.
- 707linemanSep 24, 2023AspirantOh I have reset it about 10 times. But I think I found a solution. QOS must be enabled in order to “name” devices. After you name everything you can turn QOS off and it’ll retain the settings. But I got locked out now 😂. Will advise
