- RavsirMay 09, 2022TutorI ended up downgrading to v62 and have monitored for a couple of weeks. No help unfortunately and somehow the router bypassed the "do not automatically update" checkbox and updated itself. I ended up going back to the ds7800 and surprise, surprise it actually manages IP allocations properly! This r8000p is garbage where it counts. I'm just unsure if it's my unit or the firmware on all of them? Does anyone else have trouble with devices being allocated a specific IP address across an extended network? (Through an ex7700) my ds7800 had no issues recognising a device in the IP list and allocating the right IP, even when it connects through the ex7700 and presents with the virtual prefix 3 octects. Meanwhile the r8000p just keeps chewing up IPs everytime the device disconnects and reconnects. I'd keep the old ds7800 but the triband extender chews time on the only available 5ghz radio on the ds7800. Such a disapponting group of products that should just work together, but just don't...
