R8000P Firmware - broken but no update for a long time

Hi

 

I have the R8000P and have been quite disappointed with the quality of the firmware and the lack of releases.

I have the latest version, which is quite bad (1.4.4.94).  It stops it reserving IP addresses and often fails to resolve a URL, you have to repeatedly press retry.

 

For me these are pretty serious issues, so why hasn't there been an update to fix these issues.

 

Does anyone know when a new Firmware will be released? 

Can someone suggest the best and most stable older Firmware that I can use?

Is this typical of Netgear, or is this just unlucky with this particular router?

    There is a beta FW version that fixes the IP address reservation problem.
