R8300 extend with MK83 mesh

I've done it several times.
Just go:
modem---->r8300 (router mode)----->MR80 (access point mode)-----> MS80 satellites
Make sure the mr80 is in access point mode to prevent a double nat. then just set the mr80 with the same ssid you had on the r8300.
You wouldn't need to disable wifi on the R8300 but use a different ssid and make sure its using different wireless channels from the mk system to prevent interference. then you'd have a backup wireless or even a wireless you can offload devices to like IoT devices or fixed position devices that are close.

I have a similar setup with an R7800 and a string of Orbi router (AP mode) and satellites.
Works just fine. I even use Powerline to link the R7800 to the Orbi.
