R9000 Firmware R9000-V1.0.5.28 Unable to be installed
Windows 10 64 bit upgraded from Windows 7 64 bit. Currently on V1.0.5.18 because firmware became corrupted and let sit for months before attempting to fix. Now it's working but can't update firmware...

Holy hells, had a reply posted and I don't see it after checking to see if it did post. *sigh* It was too long to retype in full too. So a summation is needed. It would be my luck it did post so there would be two replies by me saying roughly the same thing.
Antinode continues to throw back after I reply. I have my problems, mostly a high i.q. curiously combined with a blank brain. It sits fallow until some spark of inspriation comes from somewhere deep down from within. I'll be damned if I can just think to myself lets look into this. There have been projects that have sat for years until I picked it up again and was surprised by the time stamp of the last effort made. It really **bleep**ing sucks.
My rotten swiss cheese of a brain was looking for how to "uncorrupt" the file. Did I specifically ask for that? No I didn't and I should have. Plenty of sites show how to fix it and none worked of course. But no one bothered to ask beyond what they saw, what they thought was being asked. Fault all around on that.
Antinode's initial response started with an assumption that came across as derisive. Thanks to what I've experienced in the past at least. So being the piece of **bleep** I am I escalated which usually forces a person to double down on acting like a piece of **bleep** themselves. I know what I am and do what I can to alleviate that since I deal with it every day. Wonder if he thought I was actually acting like the child he says he thinks I am? Nope, just as entertained as he is in how he continues to waste everyone's time. He has reached the level of guru though so it's not like he's the idiot I've called him even if he acts like one. Well at least so far as knowing what he's doing about stuff like this at least. There's every chance he is an idiot in other aspects. Knew there was a good chance he would based on how he first responded to my inquiry. But I have said everyone is an idiot and a genius at the same time.
So I also wonder if the info dump made by the both of you was because of the law of averages you both have dealt with in the past. Ran into others who expected everything to magically work for them after it didn't work as intended the first time. Didn't bother to read, comprehend deeper than the surface only to find something lacking or different. You both provided detailed info to do exactly as I already did. You couldn't know that of course but neither of you bothered to find out either. Just assumed I couldn't upload the file to the router. And one assumed I never bothered to read the instructions. Put it in the form of a question and that question could have been sincere. But in my experience even wording like that is trollish behaviour.
Thank you Schumaku for doing a 180 and descalating this. Tried giving you a kudo before attempting to post the previous response. Probably why it didn't post since doing so threw up an error. So kudo's to you in text.
Thank you Antinode for continuing to act the ass. Yes I did so in response and I stated my reason for doing so. Think on that little boy. One thing you have going for you is seeing an opportunity to use peoples words against them. Make better use of that instead of looking like the piece of **bleep** I am and have to struggle with every day. It's only thanks to the solid foundation of right and wrong passed down to me from my parents that I even try to swim against that current. I've slipped as everyone does though. Used to put the violence to "good" work as a 13 year old debt collector running with others the same age. Some interesting stories from that part of my life. Baseball equipment is multifunctional obviously. Mister probably got the idea from that movie The Warriors. Glad I luckily got out of that life as easily as I did. Family moved around a lot so was able to cut ties very abruptly.
And if either think any of the personal info related is false, it's not. It's shared to show no one knows what's going on with a person. Especially the internet which gives too many ass hats balls of steel. Remember kiddies there's worse than me out there and a simple arguement can produce results no one wants to deal with. Don't care what you think about my sharing it either. Put it out here for a reason. You don't have to like it or believe it. Just think about it. I'm a piece of **bleep**. I try to do better. Most don't bother.
So much for this being a summation which is supposed to be short. I babble to **bleep**ing much. With what I think is good reason but it still takes time out of one's day.
I've learned nothing new from this interaction so I think it's time to end it. Say what you want, it will fall on deaf ears. Yah I said that before but curiousity got the better of me.
Thank you both for trying even if one was a **bleep**ing idiot about how they did so.
**bleep**ing A do I ever stop? No, no I do not....

Dear Synn,
Thre is no need to "fix" anything on the file downloaded. The only purpose of it it's to be a firmware image for the R9000 - nothing you can check. The Zip archive has some basic integrity check, so it's very likely the file you have unpacked from the Zip archive is right.
When you access the R9000 Web UI - convinced you can use routerlogin.net or the R9000 LAN IP like 192.168.1.1 - and start from Advanced -> Administration -> Firmware Update -> .Browse .... from here select the unpacked the img file (nor referred in the input field) ... nd use [Upload] ?
If not - what goes wrong?
