On the forum, we usually recommend users update via a hardwired connection. Reason why is if we see issues with firmware updates, its when its done over the app or over wifi.

    things you can try?

Try factory resetting. Push and hold reset for up to 30 seconds while powered on.

    doesn't work?

You can try recoving it with tftp or nmrpflash.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
    https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10

and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Hey plemans Guru, thanks for the reply and tips and instructions. I will for sure give it a try and post my results either way. I’ve owned this Router since 12/2018 and this is The very first issue I’ve had with it.
      Thanks again and be blessed…

        Good luck!

Take your time with both tftp/nmrpflash. Both are sensitive to timings and spelling. So if it doens't work the first time, check your work and try again
