R9000 qos settings are missing.

I just purchased the R9000. I am trying to set up the QOS rules but if I go to Advanced -> Setup -> QOS Setup; I am only seeing WMM settings there. I have tried on both 1.0.1.20 and 1.0.1.18  versions of the firmware. Please see image below. This is from 1.0.1.18 ( I rolled back from 1.0.1.20, assuming that it might be a firmware issue).

  • The firmware is still being tested, but unfortunately no ETA at the moment
  • I went from the X8 to the X10 tonight. I can't believe this top of the line router doesn't have QOS. Seems like one of the most important features of a router and the king of the Netgear routers doesn't even support it?

  • Thanks so much for this post!! I was going to buy an x10 and now as an engineer that works from home, since I need to directly control QOS on each connected device (like on my x6), I will not be buying the x10. I will also be sure to spread the word that even in the beta firmware it is only dynamic QOS. For $500? I don't think so. I do very much like my x6, so when full QOS control is given to the x10 flagship model (lol) I will consider purchasing one.
  • Also, having the ability to do at least 4 or 5 vlan tags, and some real LAN firewall rules should be a given on these units. I don't see why there are not some simple IP and port permit/deny options. Wouldn't that make the device fierce competition to the industry outside of pure home consumers?

I mean ...my cheap Cisco ASA 505 is great for vlans and fw rules.

Thank you for the flowers :smileymad:

I'm in the lucky(?) position operating 1.0.2.32 for some days already. It works pretty much reliably, if the Dynamic QoS thing with the by-connected-device (the lConnected Device ist is more or less reliably updated) priority setting (which is in place on Connected Devices - Edit) can fulifill all users expectation ... I can't judge. For best throughput, and to avoid unexpected dynamic changes ... I pefer to have the QoS and DoS protection mostly disabled.

Beyond, it feels and behaves like the 1.0.2.30 which has seen disabling the QoS thing on a short note for a quick release I guess.

There are - on my high expectations - lots of security issues unresolved ...

Does anybody really see April 12, 2017?

Can't get rid of the impression there are two release dates - one in the QoS database, and the effective date it was released.

Can't be we have to nurse the R9000, play browser compatibility fig and cache, reset, and so on. We talk of a product here - not a PoJ.

All right, following an email exchange with the Netgear PM in Taiwan, they uploaded the v1.12, with a release date 25 Myy 2017 to the update server - so this is available for about one hour now.

I'm still at on my R7800:

Current Performance Optimization Database on Router

            Version: v4.0428.g33cf1a0

            Release Date: April 28, 2017

How does the update get pushed to the routers? Reboot or Factory reset? This update only for the R9000 data base or all NG routers?
