R9000

I have the r9000 router it was suppose to be so good and I don't see why it's so good. Is there a way to get better distance out of it. It hardly reached outside my house. I am about to go back to asus which I had 10x the distance. Not vary impressed for what I paid for it

I'm doubting the 10x the distance claim. Reason why is router broadcast strength is set by the fcc. and half decent routers have maxed out that power level for a long time.

So its not a strength difference. You might see some variations on speed and a little on distance based on router efficiency but it isn't 10x.

You might keep in mind the fact that exterior walls tend to be made from things that block wifi well.

like brick, concrete, adobe, cement board, foil lined insulation, metal siding, etc.

If you're needing coverage outdoors, try putting the router in a window or even add an outdoor access point.

So there's no setting in the router that might give me more distance. Just a outside access point
