I am using an R9000 router and need to extend Wi-Fi to detached garage. I do not get a strong enough signal from the R9000 inside the garage to just add a Netgear Range Extender EX7000 in the garage,...
I have the same type of problem. 6400 V3 in the house and I need to get a signal to an outbuilding the is about 75 feet away. I can get a signal there, but it is very weak and becomes intermittent. I don't know if I can just put something like a EX7500 between the house and the outbuilding. Hate to buy one and find out it doesn't work. A secondary issue is that it is for a security camera, so needs to respond as close to "real time" as possible.

Wireless Wi-Fi extenders are a band-aid solution at best.
