I bought a sensor to detect when water is leaking and it works on 2.4GHz not 5.
Is this router able to switch automatically between 2.4 and 5? If so, how do I set this up?

It's up to the device to pick and choose the signal to connect too. First check to make sure the device supports both frequencies. Contact the Mfr of this device for help and information.
You can help with by disabling Smart Connect ON the router and set different SSID names and then configure the device for the SSID name.
