The cm1200 has 4x ethernet ports. But comcast only supports 1 device connected to it.
So try this. Power off the router and the modem. Disconnect the coax from the modem.
Wait 2 minutes.
Connect the coax back to the modem and power it on.
Wait 2 minutes.
Connect port 1 on the modem to the wan port on the router.
Power the router on.
Wait 2 minutes for it to fully boot.
Attempt setup/using the router.
Make sure to only have 1 device plugged into the cm1200.

DUDE...... It worked, thank you so much! I don't understand why comcast chose to do that. That's a waste of 3 ports. Probably because it's not their equipment.

Glad it worked for you! It happens because Comcast wants people to pay extra for more than one public IP address.
