It has a thrmostat, I don't have a wifi thermostat. It shows 7 phones, we only have 4 in the family. And when I look at the IP address of the 4 phones, none of them are actually in the list, even though we are all connected. I'm at FW version V1.0.9.88_10.2.88, and it said there were no newer versions. Anyone know what the heck is going on?
Thanks!
You don't appear to even have a user name, so I can't even address you.
I'm assuming that you have purchased this router second hand? or have you been given the router, because if you had just bought it new out of the box, I doubt it would have come with the firmware you state you have, unless said router has been sat on a store shelf for at least 2 years. I know this, because I bought my R7000 AC1900 in February 2020 and it came loaded with v.64 out of the box and v.88 was released just a couple of weeks after I purchased it. In any case, your router, is 7 firmware updates behind the latest release and there would have been more to add to that but Netgear have withdrawn a couple of 'Hotfix's'.
It seems to me, as though you should perhaps carry out a factory reset and then update the firmware to the latest release, v.130.
Perhaps, if you have bought this router second hand, the attached devices list is still populated with devices from a previous owner? who knows. That is why it might be a good idea to do a factory reset and update the firmware.
Just so you know, don't believe what your router is telling you when it says there isn't a newer firmware. The firmware for this router is from experience, somewhat flakey.

Not sure about the username, maybe my account was too new for it to show up.
Yes, this router was my daughters that she had a college, it appears to be slightly better than my old one so I decided to use it. The first thing I did was to a factory reset. Every time I try to update the FW it fails, so I'm not sure what to do about that. I know in my old router I could do a manual update so I'll see if I can find the same thing.
Thanks!

Try setting up the router after a factory reset and see how it works. You may want to hold off of FW updates for now.
