Some people here have reported problems with the V1.0.2.78 firmware on the R7800.
The browser graphical user interface (GUI) and the Genie for Windows tell me that there is now a V1.0.2.80 avai...

I think an alternative firmware is far more relevant for people having problems with the last 5 FW-updates, than you telling people what they meant with their words.
I will test this firmware in AP-mode today and give feedback if there are any problems.

Please give feedback if there isn't problems as well - even if you think that would also be irrelevant.

From the v.1.0.2.68, in order to be sure, and to remove any doubt :
after a new fresh RESET
push RESET button >10s
LED flash amber
R7800 restartsI just did the update again, one more time, by injecting the firmware file v1.0.2.80 via TFTP*
*it's a recovery process

:smileymad::smileymad::smileymad:
BUT, BUT
after R7800 restarts with the new v1.0.2.80 and the AP configuration,
I still have problems losing wifi and reboot randomlyR7800 reboots randomly after boot up
R7800 works in AP MODE 5 minutes .... lost connection...
WIFI drops in AP MODE .... works 2 minutes and reboot...again...and again...and again ...
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Have you ever factory reset the R7800 once it had .80 firmware on it already, or are you always factory resetting a previous version then installing .80?

HELLO
...before v1.0.2.68 i've NEVER RESET my R7800
since theses firmwares are out
v.1.0.2.74 = R7800 bugs
v.1.0.2.76 = R7800 bugsv.1.0.2.78 = R7800 bugs
v.1.0.2.80 = R7800 bugs
So, i always try to RESET BEFORE FLASH FIRMWARE ... to prevent any problem with old settings...
(but no change / still same pbs, wifi drops, lost connection ... router reboots after 3~5 min )...
so, right now :
I'm stilll on v1.0.2.68... works correctly

How about the question you were asked?
Have you ever factory reset the R7800 once it had .80 firmware on it already, or are you always factory resetting a previous version then installing .80?

Obviously....
I have reset several times my R7800 with version v1.0.2.80 ... always the same problems ... :so ... back to v.1.0.2.68

Any chance you might want to change the AP to a different product since the firmware never works for you specifically? That way you can get the latest security fixes instead of intentionally staying vulnerable.

My R7800 has always worked very well... i love it since 2 years...
i just would understand WHY (....i hope) there are always theses problemssince the latest updates (... greater than v1.0.2.68 )
it's abnormal... i think i'm not alone... many people explain the same pb...
....therefore, I am waiting for a hypothetical new firmware ( > v1.0.2.68 )
that works correctly :smileyindifferent:
