SDan67 - Does '130 behave any better after a factory reset and manual re-entry of your configuration?
I just noticed something strange in my R7000 logs that spontaneously started 2 days after I installed '130 without a factory reset. The WAN DHCP changed from occurring every 6 hours to now continuing to occur every 30 minutes (for the last 3 days). This shows on the log as an entry "[Internet connected] IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" followed by "[Time synchronized with NTP server]".
I also suspect WiFi dropouts during WiFi cell phone calls and dropouts with our hard-wired Ooma VOIP, so I'm ready to try a factory reset re-install of '130.

I have encountered two problems with this version.
1. After router is reset to default setting, I can get fast wifi and lan, but if I power it down then up again, wifi 5 gets really slow, unless I factory reset it again without powering it down.
2. Unable to set the 5G channel. The channel select just doesn't exist.
The worst part is, I cannot go back to previous firmware from UI.
Any suggestions?

There's no excuse for Netgear's sloppy QC on this product's FW.
Sounds like you have a bad install of '130. Try a factory reset followed by a fresh install of '130 over your current '130. Never restore configuration from a backup file because that seems to always cause problems. Instead, only manually enter configuration.
I've seen various weird things happen with the UI but when I logout and back in, they go away. I've never seen the missing 5GHz channel problem.

Thanks @Bill-D
Unfortunately, the webUI does not allow me to update firmware from 130 to 130. This is the message I get
This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product.
And I have figured out how to reproduce the problem. I am running R7000 along side with R7800 (main router).
BTW, there is no 5G band selection options no matter how many times I factory reset the router,
My laptop is within 1 meter of the router
1. Factory reset, complete the welcom/wizard, default 5G link speed is 1300Mb
2. Enable guest wifi network on both 2.4G and 5G and apply changes, at this point, 5G link speed is still 1300Mb
3. Change 2.4 and 5G SSID, and add security to both 2.4 and 5G, apply changes, 5G link speed is still 1300Mb
4. In advanced menu, Lan setting, set router IP to 192.168.1.2, and disable DHCP, apply changes, 5G link speed is changed to 278Mb.
However, if change the sequences of these steps to the following:
1, 4, 2, 3, the 5G link speed will stay at 1300Mb.
How can this happen?

Hello There,
Well, I spent the hole weekend on this issue, so far please find the scenario and outcome, I hope this is going to be helpful to someone.
Scenario: Factory Reset the Modem and install Firmware .130
Outcome: So far I haven't faced any major issues during the process to factory reset the modem and during the installation of firmware .130
- Reset factory was smooth and no issues
- So far during the firmware update it took around 5minutes plus the automatic modem reboot during the process, I think it can be under the "normal" behavior.
- Once the Router came online some features wasn't available anymore:
- "Anywhere" connect
- VPN configuration
- 5G Channel selection
- I powered off the router and waited 5mins aprox. (too much time for the power cycle, but I just got busy in something else)
- After powerd on the router the only feature unavailable was "Anywhere" connect.
- During the network set up I got below intermitent issues:
- After changing a name device I lost the webserver and cannot login to the router. (Rebooting the router fixed the issue)
- Android application worked once then I got the message "logon timeout"
After 24 hours the router looks stable, but I have the same thinking, this firmware is not having a good quality.
Good Luck guys!!
Best Regards.

I own 3 R7000 routers and look after an additional 3. I must confess, I've never had any problems after updating the firmware (with one exception - the "attached devices" not registering correctly after FW v1.0.9.42). It's one of the (very) few Netgear products that doesn't suffer from the numerous hardware "versions", even after its long and distinguished continuing service life.
However, Netgear technical support.................................................. (ugh!)

Check my post, I had the similar issue, fixed by reflashing the firmware using nmrpflash.
Good luck!
