Re: This serial number is already registered to another customer.
i have the same problem. this is the third used Netgear router i've gotten and i can access the first two so i must have found a way at some point, but i can't get past "serial number already registered" at this point, even WITH a netgear account.

You can't re-register a pre-owned Netgear device if it's registered to a different account.

The registration can always be ignored or bypassed. Years ago, there was an exception on a few Netgear Smart Managed Switch models on the early firmware versions - the work-around was to start these while not connecting to any network, and install the current / latest firmware back then.

This part might not apply to your R6230, ReadyCloud was never available on your router model. However, as your device is a second hand unit, you never have to proof your R6230 is still under warranty and/or owned by you.
