ReadyShare not working W10
It would appear that readyshare uses SMB1 and Windows 10 no longer supports it.
I can access the readyshare files from a Win 8.1 PC, but not on my up-to-date Win10 PC.

What are you running?
I do NOT think that popup is from W10? I've got PC's here running W10 V1903 and both Home and Pro versions of W10. Never saw that dialog box at all?
You can find out 'who' is putting up that dialog box by following what to do on this page, https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/determine-program-process-owns-error-message-window/ .
I'd hazard a guess, but suspect it is your Security suite possibly.
As you can see by my attached screen capture, the Share for the USB drive (TP-Share2) is using NETBIOS for the Discovery Method. The first 2 are PC's and use WSD (which NG refused to implement, and if they did you wouldn't need SMB1, and other vendors have made the same decision by the way). To use NETBIOS shares, SMB 1 is REQUIRED.
You are in a Netgear Router forum, not the Modem/Router forum, so I don't know if this is part of the problem for you? However is the W8.1 works (and that has SMB 1 enabled by default) then the problem is in your W10 PC, not the modem/router.
I'm running Windows 10...as per the title of my post. The screenshot I posted popped up after I tried to access \\readyshare from Windows Explorer, despite what you might think. My security software is the default, built in Windows Defender (or whatever they call it now)

Luckily NG is re-writing their firmware to support SMBv3 (as they should have a long time ago...but that's another rant) so updating to the latest firmware should fix it...BUT the latest firmware for the D7800 breaks the Internet link, so I've had to revert back to an old version just so the Internet will work! Out of getting internet or readyshare, I'll choose internet every time, but geez, I really wish NG could get their act together with regards to their firmware. Therefore the problem very much is with the modem/router, not Windows 10.

Yes, it HAS to be used. Search here again for SMB1 and the web for MS's statement. I've posted it here umpteen times, and in it, MS states you may have to run it. it is still INCLUDED in W10, just not enabled as a default.
Yes, on some higher end routers WSD was enabled I understand. Yes, SMB2 and 3 IS enabled, at least on the R7000 and R8000. However that is 1/2 the story. WSD must also be enable to expose the share WHICH NG has not done.
If your hypothesis is correct, I too would see that dialog box but I don't? How do you explain that?

So how do you know they are adding SMB 3? As I said, on some routers it is installed and activated, but it alone will not fix the sharing problem. Is the share method (as I have shown) is NETBIOS (which MS also deprecated) that Netgear uses.

Also do your own search for SMB 1 on this forum, there is plenty of information there, included on posts by me on how to tell if SMB3 is running on the Router.
However, from your quote above, you mention for the first time with new f/w you could reach the internet, totally unrelated problem.
