    ReadySHARE works with most standard file formats. Any encryption is down to whatever software you use to move data between devices.

    I doubt if that will do much to change matters. Netgear doesn't seem to have changed the basic operation of USB operations. If anything it is removing USB from some newer devices., his has been a big complaint among Orbi users. They originally had a useless USB port. Now even that has gone.
