Red WiFi light after resetting

Sorry, I filled in all the text blocks and apparently it doesn’t show on the post itself. It’s a Netgear nighthawk R 7000 router. The red Wi-Fi light is the one that appears. All the rest are blue. Blue means that they function normally and red means that there is an issue. We had to do a factory reset because we needed to get into the admin section through the Internet. And the username and password that was written down did not work. I was told the only thing I could do to reset the password was to do a factory reset. I know we did this once before in the past and it was not this difficult. When I plug the Computer into the ISP cable and bypass the router altogether I have an Internet connection. So there is something with the router or the settings that I am missing.

The second LED in from the right side (Wi-Fi), is a combination indicator/switch. With the router powered on and booted up, press and hold the LED indicator/switch for a few seconds and then release. You might have to do this a couple of times if the boot process produced an error. After a couple of attempts you should be able to turn the Wi-Fi radios on and the resulting indicator LED should be white (light blue) in color.
- I pushed the button several times over the course of an hour or so. With the WiFi light still red. I turned the router off for a few minutes then back on, still nothing. So I pushed the button once more just to make sure. Do I need to connect the computer again before it turns blue?
I used the nighthawk app went to settings and used smart connect but it never could find the router. The app, to me, is lacking some information and functions.

The Nighthawk application is of little or no value for configuration or troubleshooting.
How many years have you been using this R7000?
Are you comfortable your power adapter is in good condition along with the power source where you plug it in?
Are you sure you have the appropriate power adapter for your R7000?
- We purchased the r7000 back in 2019. It was plugged in behind the piano with provided cords. The piano is along an outside wall so we leave an 18 inch gap and it has not moved. Other than using a vacuum wand to collect dust bunnies, the cords are undisturbed. To be sure we did get a new Ethernet cord to go between the wall and router.
