Remote Management
I live abroad and before I left the USA, I turned on remote management on my R6900. I wrote down the Remote Management Address and allowed access by Everyone. I noted the port number too. I also sign...
I am now able to connect remotely. I had to just do the same thing as was previously advised from the earlier thread I had posted. I had a friend log into the router and change the LAN IP value to a 3, that is 168.1.3.1 and I am now able to connect remotely from Thailand to use the VPN feature and connect to Netflix.

I'm not familiar with NO IP but it would be whatever you chose as your IP address. So would be the latter.
Example of how I think it should be:
https://YOURNAME.FREEDNS.NO-IP.COM:8443
But check your NO IP documentation or ask them?
Thanks. after checking no-ip website and taking a screenshot of my router before I left California, the netgear router message gave the message to use https://XX.XXX.XX.XX The no-ip website just says the hostname I used with the netgear router to update the DNS? Sorry if that doesn't clarify what you are trying to tell me. I tried various address combinations of accessing the router but so far no luck. Thanks for your suggestion.
- I'm confused by what you are writing. But if you have a NO IP account, then you would have picked an alpha character address. You should open a browser and type what is below into the address window. I would use IE but Im sure other browsers will work too. In no case should you be typing in any numbers. Are you sure you set up your NO IP name correctly? The way NO IP and other services work is your ISP assigns a dynamic IP address, If you want to log in remotely, the IP address might change. By using NO IP you select a permanent address and NO IP will send you to the dynamic IP currentely assigned to your service (modem/router). That way you are sure to connect. If you set it up correctly you should have no problems. With the NG router there is a screen to set up the NO IP service and a different one to set up remote login. I dont use NO IP so I cant give you more details. But like I said your address should be something like the one below: https://YOURNAME.FREEDNS.NO-IP.COM:8443
- I think you took a pic of your remote management screen. You need a pic of your dynamic dns screen. You should be using that host name. But if you dont have it then just log into NO IP to get the info. the example i have been giving you is how i think it should look but check with NO IP to make sure. I assume you set it up correctly and input it into your router. If you didn't you will not be able to log in remotely if the IP address assigned by your ISP has changed.
