re new Nighthawk D7000 Problem 1 It arrived yesterday. Was setting it up with my internet provider. There was a problem so she asked me to reset it. I tried & tried but it appears to not be work...

D7000[v1] or D7000v2? Look for "Model" on the product label.

There should be a little movement (less than a mm?) with a little
detent/click. No significant force is needed.

I'd expect an immediate change to the Power indicator, with more
flashing stuff after 5-10 seconds.

Ask the seller? Anything _could_ be broken. Someone could have
shoved a suitable punch into the hole, hard, and wrecked the
(non-very-strong) switch.

"tried it" how, exactly?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the
kit(s). Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions. (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)
When that fails because of a deficient User Manual, try:
If you can get logged into the thing with a web browser, then there
might be a non-mechanical control at ADVANCED > Administration > Backup
Settings : Revert to factory default settings.
