resetting my router
My internet provider (Spectrum) tells me I need to periodically reset my Router for optimal function. How do I do that simply and exactly. thx

First find out why they suggest that. As plemans says, you shouldn't have to do that.
Do you have a problem that needs fixing? ISPs rarely know what they are talking about and often suggest "solutions" that make no sense.
