I have no idea what you are talking about here.
Forget about the cable, what are you trying to connect to the router?
Your subject says:
"Need to connect Spectrum internet to my R8000P X6S"
Depending on the type of Internet – usually DSL or cable, but sometimes optical – you need a modem to connect to that with the appropriate cable. You then plug the R8000P into the modem with an Ethernet cable.
Your ISP often supplies a modem. Sometimes they provide a modem/router. You then have to work out how to get that to play nicely with your Netgear router.

My current older Netgear C3700 has a coax cable internet connector on it.
My new Netgear R8000P only has an ethernet internet port, nothing for a coax cable (spectrum internet).

That is a modem/router. It can connect you to the Internet service.

That is a router. It is not a modem and cannot connect you directly to the Internet. You need a modem to connect the R8000P to the Internet.
You can use the C3700 as the "front end" connection to the Internet.
If you want to use all the features of the R8000P you need to turn off the router bit of the C3700. To do that, look at the manual for the C3700 and read the section "To cable your modem router to a gateway or router".

Your C3700 is a router/modem combo (also know as Gateway). Your R8000P is a pure router that needs a modem

You don't; you connect it to a cable modem.

If the modem section of your C3700[vX] satisfies your modem
requirements, then you should be able to disable its router, and use it
as your modem.Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.
Look for "Cable Your Modem Router to a Router or Gateway".You might want to check with your ISP to see if they support that
modem(+router) at the Internet speed you've subscribed to.- RgnmgrJun 24, 2021Aspirant
Thanks for the info.
I returned the router and purchased another modem router.
