Router internal IP is not the same as my external IP provided by provider.
I have 2 R7000 routers. On one of them the router internal ip (found while using the browser to access the router) is the same as my say... (what's my ip) ip address. On the other router those two ...

I called optimum and they put their router in 'bridge' mode.
Restarted the modem and router and bang... numbers match...
No wonder I couldn't get port forwarding to work at home!!!

Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
