I have a very unique issue involving a router I purchased from a online selling app. I purchased the Nighthawk C7800 to use with Comcast as I upgraded my speed. Only to find out the MAC address is as...
No the mac can't be changed to do that.
If the person has an active account and switches to a different modem, you should be able to use it.
Or simply contact the sell as its currently an unusable device.
