Router not working with Comcast modem R8000

Sorry to beat a dead horse but I'm not getting any response from the R8000 at all when it is bridged with the new comcast modem.  The R8000 worked great with the previous modem and it was only upon the insistence of Comcast did we switch.  Only light on the router is the power, nothing else responds.  When the bridge is disabled the modem works however the signal is constantly dropping in other parts of the house especially with my camera system.  Can I get my router to work with this modem? Thanks in advance as I'm not as experienced with all of this (my husband even less!) and that's why I'm hoping someone can help.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network

Check LAN cables between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Thanks for the quick response.  Can't answer a lot of your questions as I don't have a clue....however I'll follow your instructions as to the restart etc. and will let you know if any of that worked.  I know sequence is important so let me accomplish that first.  I do admire your confidence in me that I would understand ANYTHING that you have on the bottom of your response.....LOL

What do you expect bridge mode to do?

Are you meaning access point mode?

They're 2 different modes and provide different functions.

    What was the prior modem?

    What is the current one?

What are you trying to accomplish?
