router signal
I have Xfinity internet service and a Nighthawk router but my wifi signal in the house is 1 bar even if I'm standing nex to the router. the internet speed are very good by the Netgear app speed test. The router is in the kitchen but 15' away from the microwave. I'm at a loss.

1. the netgear speedtest hosts the test off the router. So its going to be good. to actually test your connect to the router, download the speedtest app. What actual speeds do you get with that app?
2. what firmware is on your router?
3. what modem/gateway is it connected to?
4. Are you connected to 2.4ghz or 5ghz? Do they both have poor signals?
5. Have you tried other devices or just one device?
