Secure Login

The ROUTERLOGIN.NET web site says it is not secure (using my laptop computer). I've read the numerous/previous responses related to questions like this, and the responses do not make sense to me. I enter routerlogin.net on my open web browser. I assume that I am connecting to the web and my router via my WiFi and web browser. Am I only connecting to my router, via my laptop's and  router's WiFi, and not the web? If I'm not connected to the web, why do I get the message that it is not secure?
