Select ethernet name on an R7900P Router
When I connect an ethernet cable to this router, it defaults to Netgear93; can I select a different name? If so, how?

Thanks for providing so much info!
Where do you see that?
Which firmware version?
What device(s) are you plugging in?
Have you looked in http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 ?

Win11 shows that I am logged into Ethernet to Netgear93. At the same time, I am logged into Wireless SSID i58 (one that I created). What I want to do is log into Ethernet i58 not Netgear93.
I am currently logged into the R7900P.

Disconnect from the SSID on the router or disable the wifi radio on the laptop.
You should be only connecting to one or the other at separate times.

Okay, I will only use Ethernet or Wireless.
However, am I able to set the Ethernet to other from Netgear93?
- microchip8Feb 13, 2023MasterThis is a Windows setting, not a router one. It's Windows that assigns network names so look around in its settings.

Interestingly, I had MS working on the issue, and after much time, they said, "oh, that is assigned by the ISP." Since the Ethernet name is Netgear93 which is the default name in the Router, I assume that the name comes from Netgear not my ISP (Comcast).
