Sensi Smart Touch Thermostat provisioning error
We recently bought 3 of these thermostats and when we try to connect to our Netgear R7800 we continue to get a provisioning error after selecting the correct network 2.4GHz and adding the password. ...

Might try this, set wifi security to NONE, then see if these devices will connect then. Re-enable WPA2 and AES after checking.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
I know I have security set to something besides None. Channels in on Auto, for 2.4 and 5 I believe, to set the channel I just select it from the dropdown correct?

Try setting NONE for security just to see if they connect. Re-enable WPA2 after testing.
Yes.

Is your smart phone based on iOS or Android?
- EScharnellNov 02, 2022AspirantAndroid. Does that matter?

Different operating systems.
Different apps can have different behaviour.
iOS apps can be especially picky.

What he said above....
Plus, if your smart home thermostat requires configuring your router for port forwarding it is time to consider a new brand of thermostat. When you are working with your smart phone to provision your device, make certain you have shut off the phone's access to cell data.

I ensured to turn off mobile data before doing the pairing. I'll try these suggestions and if it doesn't work the thermostats still work on the wall.

I set the channel to 1 and removed security and still got a provisioning error 😞

This points you right back to the response from FURRYe38. The problem is related to the OEM hardware or OEM application or both.
When you are chasing an issue like this and making changes, be sure to power down all of the hardware and start it up cold after the changes. Even though you have made changes to the settings, they often times will not take effect in the hardware until you restart the device. This applies to all of the devices associated with the provisioning process.

Did you ever solve this? I am having the same exact issue with Emmerson Sensi ST55 and RAXE500. I had no issue with a different Sensi thermostat with this router last year but can not get it to connect, Provisioning Error.

Not yet, Emerson support just today sent me an email response from the issue ticket i opened.
