setting up router using spectrum 2g and 5g
first time user, received a nughthqwk router and would like to install it for streaming. I was told this unit could not be hooked up with 2g and 5g lines. From what I read I thouht i could plug both...

What I ahve done is disconnected the Spetrum router and replaced it with the Netgear Nighthawk router as you mentioned.
My son in law confused me with the 2g and 5g. I thought those were seperate lines that had to be placed into the Netgear router and I couldn't find them. No wonder I was confused and confused everyone else as to what I was trying to do.
I will run the set up as per the manual.
I am also moving the router form being inside the AC Closet where the Tech had placed it and move it into the living room by the tv and computers.
This should help in reception and drop issues when I am streaming.
Thanks for being patient and understanding while I am educating myself. The forum has been a great source of information and help.

You lost me. "the other line"? What, exactly, are you connecting to
what, exactly? (Hint: If a device has different types of Ethernet
ports, then "connected to device" is not enough detail.)

It's still unclear to me. Are you trying to replace your old router
with the R7000, or are you trying to add the R7000 to your old router to
improve your wireless-network coverage, or what? If the latter, then
look for "Use the Router as a Wireless Access Point" in the R7000 User
Manual.

What's special about "streaming"? Is there some actual problem which
you are trying to solve?
