Setting up/using hotspot
I am completely naive when it comes to using mobile hotspots. I have a vacation site in Florida and a cabin in the Smokies, but no wifi in either place. I am looking at a mobile hotspot as a possible solution, but really don't know what is entailed. I want to be able to stream via Roku or a laptop in either locations, and of course maintain standard Internet services (email, browser).
My questions are:
- So I purchase the MR1100 (for instance). Then I do what? Establish a data connection via AT&T, for instance? Does the MR100 act as a "phone" to connect to cell service in order to provide my internet access?
- Assuming that's the basic a mechanism, what does such a data plan generally cost? Can I get unlimited data?
- If it doesn't work like that, how does it work?
- I have no idea how much data is involved in streaming, say, YouTubeTV or other streaming services. If I can't get unlimited data for a reasonable price, what size plan would be about right?
What else do I need to know?
I tried to contact Netgear support on their website, but it was a horribly frustrating experience. Dialog boxes that disappeared before I could interact with them, etc.

What you first need to figure out is what your cell phone service is like in those locations. If there isn't decent cell service there, its a half pointless exercise. If you do and can figure out who has good services, then you could contact that cell phone provider to check into getting service through them as well as what plans they have.
Its mainly contingent on who you use for the provider, not on netgear.
