What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
CAT5 doesn't support 1000Mbps connection rates. CAT6 is recommended and supports up to 10Gb connection rates.

Firmware is V1.0.11.134_10.2.119 I just downloaded it today.
The ONT is iPhontonix Model 7477G
I didn't know cat5 doesn't support 1Gbps, I'll have to get a cat6 wire.
From what I could find on that ONT, it has its own integrated router. It causes a double nat. (not necessarily your slow downs through)
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

If you've ever had them enabled, factory reset the router and start back at stock. during the install DO NOT enable those features. the r7000 is a 9 year old router and when those features are enabled, it disables ctf (cut through forwarding) which is needed to hit gigabit speeds.
plemans, thanks for the reply, I do appreciate the time you put into this.
My iPhotonix does not have a router or it was disabled, so I do not think there is any Double NAT problem.
On my router all of the items you mentioned are disabled and I did start off with a factory reset. The access control does not show on my router's dialogue so I assume it is disabled.
I did change to cat6 cables so that's not an issue now.
But I still only get 200Mbps. I'll have the provider check again to see if it is their issue, and maybe I need to upgrade the router.
