Slow Wifi Speeds on a 400mbps connection, AC1750 r6400
I am on spectrum internet with 400mbps speeds download 24 mbps upload, I have tested those speeds with a spectrum techincian and by myself hardwired into the modem and router. This Nighthawk AC1750 is giving me those speeds when connected through ethernet, but on wifi I am only getting 88mbps download 13mbps upload. This is ridiculous...this router is supposed to get upwards of 450-1300mbps, why am I only getting 88??? I have the nighthawk app and it says I'm on the best channel for my wifi network with only 1 other user. I have tested the wifi signal literally standing right next to it, 5ft away, 10 ft away...it's awful. I think the issue is the wifi on the router, but I don't want to get another netgear router that might not work either. I tried a factory reset and that only made it worse. Now I'm only getting 55mbps on my download. I'm frustrated because I'm paying for 400+mbps internet from my internet provider, they have confirmed I am getting that, I have confirmed I am getting that, yet my wifi is atrocious. Please advise. I don't know a lot about this stuff, but what I do know is that even if I'm not expected to get those full 400mbps speeds on wifi...my wifi should be better than this 55mbps... I mean, come on. #HELP

A couple questions/statements.
1. Link speeds aren't the same as actual throughput speeds. And rated speeds 450/1300 are also based of antenna connection. It getst eh 450mbps for 2.4ghz because each antenna supports 150mbps and there's 3. The 1300 is 433mbps for 5ghz for each antenna over 3.
2. That link speed issue? for 5ghz you usually see around 55-65% of throughput speed based off what link speed you're at. 2.4ghz is much much lower because its a slower network and more sensitive to interference. If you're connected to 2.4ghz that 55mbps is probably around what you'll get.
3. Again, 5ghz is much faster. You should be able to get faster speeds over 5ghz.
4. what device are you testing with? A 1x1 antenna device is going to have half the speed of a 2x2 device. And if you're testing over 2.4ghz, you will be much slower.
5. How are you speedtesting? in the netgear app? using the speedtest app? or using a computer/pc?
6. what firmware is on the router?

5. How are you speedtesting? in the netgear app? using the speedtest app? or using a computer/pc? -- speed tested across about 10 different speed test sites, in the netgear app as well. Tested with my Mac and my phone over the netgear app.

It is a bit lame on industry rating of wireless speeds versus actual throughput. Problem is that its industry wide.

Firmware is also key with the R6400's. They had just enough cpu to run armor but only v2 of the r6400.
so if you can look that up, it'd help.
