Speeds capped at 100mbps, im supposed to have gigabit R7000 paired with CM1000
i have tried everything i can think of to resolve this issue with no luck. ISP has confirmed GB speeds on the line itself.

copy, well as i stated, my ISP came out and verified speeds on the line, everything checked out on their end. When i turn my modem on, all lights are green as should be but when i turn router on and try to connect my PC via LAN it turns the LAN light on modem amber, which indicates 100mbps. I used to get roughly 850 down and 40 up. My down speed sits around 90 right now.

A smidgen of more detail there but still a bit thin on details.
The firmware on the router is?
Can you test the speed out of the modem by connecting to that with a PC?
The first advice from Netgear's techs would be to reset the router and set it up from scratch.

V1.0.11.116_10.2.100 router firmware, ISP tech connected his handheld to the modem and got variable speeds ranging from 200-500. everything is currently connected to pc and when i run a speed test its roughly 80-90 down and 40 up. I checked for updates on both pieces of equipment shows everything is up to date.
sorry for lack of info, i dont know whats enough or too much info. I factory reset the router due to an issue similar to mine and that was a solution someone had recommended. didnt fix it.- michaelkenwardAug 20, 2023Guru - Experienced User

That is not the gigabit in your subject.
Your firmware is half a dozen versions behind the latest:

You might like to update that.

i misread part of your response, i will hook modem directly to pc to rule out modem issue
