Status Not Connected
On my Netgear genie home directory WiFi Connection says "Status Not Connected" even though it is connected, why and how do I fix that? Can I have just one user name and password for all of the functions for Netgear? It seems I am asked for a new user name and password for each function!!! One more question: I'm trying to set up the AC1200 Wifi USB Adapter with no success. Help!

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the USB WiFi Adapter products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with adapters and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/WiFi-Adapters/bd-p/home-wifi-adaptersPlease include information about what brand and model wifi router your connecting the adapter too.
Be sure to update any available wifi drivers for the adapter as well.
Thank you.

It is hard trying to unravel what is going on here.
What's the problem? The wifi status?
What router are you using the genie with?

What "functions" are we talking about here? You need passwords for the wifi and password for the browser graphical user interface (GUI).
One more question: I'm trying to set up the AC1200 Wifi USB Adapter with no success. Help!
Does that question have anything to do with the earlier bits?
AC1200 is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Netgear has made several USB wifi adaptors with that wifi technology.
Unfortunately "no success" tells us nothing about what you did and where it went wrong.
All in all, it is hard to unravel your list of problems.
