Super slow upload, super fast download
Hi everybody. First post. So I just bought a Netgear AX2400 (RAX30) router. It is connected to a T-mobile Arcadian gateway. Before the router was installed, via wifi to the gateway, (wifi 6, 5ghz) I...

How is the router connected to the Gateway? AP mode or Router mode? If the latter, if possible, you need to set the Gateway to Bridge mode. Otherwise you'll be in a double NAT situation that can act funky. If it's not possible, run the RAX30 as an AP.
Which router firmware version? (not "the latest" but a version)

Thanks, microchip!
The router is in router mode. I thought about AP mode but I understand if I do that, I'll loose most of the router features like IP reservations, etc. Is that correct? If not, what router features will I lose? Will AP mode have anything to do with speed? Also, if my SSID and password are different on the router, will that still create NAT problems? The wifi radios and SSID transmit cannot be turned off on the T-Mobile gateway.
I'll have to get back with you on the router firmware, I'm currently not home.
Thanks again.

AP mode disables most of the router features. Think of it as a (wireless) switch. It just passes through stuff to the main router and has no real control over it. SSIDs have nothing to do with double NAT. You can read more about this subject here: https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-double-NAT-and-why-is-it-bad

Thank you.
The problem with the T-Mobile gateway is that absolutely nothing can be changed on it. Other than setting your own SSID and password, the gateway has zero features.
