The power socket on the router has been damaged - NetGear Nighthawk X6 R8000

Hello,

The power socket on the router has been damaged - NetGear Nighthawk X6 R8000 . What socket should I buy exactly to solder it? Are there any replacements?

Please help me.

You should be able to measure the plug on the end of the cable to find the right adapter. Or just directly solder the wire to the board. You might check the board really carefully. I've actually seen the traces get messed up when an adapter breaks.

Is it possible to replace the adapter with some other adapter from a different router model?

If it matches you should be able to.

Its going to be disassembling it and actually looking at the plug in adapter to check if its a standard one.
If it is, you can use whatever you like. Just make sure that what you're using is compatible with the power supply.

Or if you're using a different power supply that it has the exact same voltage and polarity. And at least the same amperage (it can have more amps but not less)
