Timing out
I have 2 work computers. One has to be connected via Ethernet and the other WiFi. It seems to time out on WiFi after a couple hours. How should the settings be to prevent this. I thought I had selecte...

Times out from what?
If this is a wifi adapter on a Windows PC check that it is not set to put the USB port to sleep after a period of inactivity.
Wifi adapter properties
It is easy to blame the router for connection issues when the real culprit is something else on the network. First investigate other possibilities.

I am not set up as an admin so I cannot change that option.

Whoever is your admin, have them change that. If it can't be changed and thats whats causing it, that can be the issue
