If I bypass the router (connecting directly to the ISP) I don't have any problem accessing the site mentioned above.
What modem/gateway/ONT sits between the router and the Internet?
You might like to update your firmware. There have been several since that one.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
That page will have firmware for your device.
Check the section in the manual on updating the firmware.

Between the modem and the internet: icotera i5801-01
According to the Nighthawk app (iPhone) the firmware is up to date!?

Hard to be accurate as that doesn't show up in a search, but according to Google, that looks like a combined ONT/router. Does it also also do wifi and LAN?
If so, this means that you are in classic NAT territory.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router. Sometimes it is easier to put the second router into AP mode. But that has its own drawbacks:

It isn't. Those apps are notoriously unreliable. That is why I told you where to look.

Yes - the icotera i5801 also do lan and wifi - but I've asked the service provider to Bridge it.
I'll try the firmware upgrade 🙂
