Trying to open port 44158 on X4S R7800

what actual modem are you using?
- Currently using Arris/Motorola SB6141. Previously had a Hitron E31N2V1 provided by Spectrum.
Not a very safe way to do it but have you tried putting the miner in the R7800's dmz?
Yeah, I tried it previously knowing the security risks and took it off quickly right after it didn't work. I just tried again and it did not work, so I took it off the dmz again.
The ping that I am sending to the miner from the port checker is being documented by the router's logs (image attached) even though it is showing up as closed.
